Structures block sunlight and fresh air.
Keeping out the sun and air
The urban environment is encroaching on the narrator.
That's all around me
The surroundings are choked by metaphorical weeds, causing distress.
Choked by these weeds I cry
Expressing sorrow amidst the overgrowth.
It's the age of progress
The era characterized by advancement and development.
It's the time for change
A time demanding change and transformation.
