Our essence remains constant from infancy to mortality.

Love does not cost money, but it ain't free
Love is valuable, not monetarily costly, but it demands a price.
We're learning slowly

Uncertainty about remaining the same over time.
Or pretty much the same (Now that's more like it)
Acceptance of remaining largely unchanged.
From birth to grave, I couldn't see so clearly what I was or became
