But please, for me,
A plea to retain personal belongings, such as a color TV.
Don't take away my new color TV,
Expressing the importance of keeping the TV to avoid personal upset.
That would upset me dearly,
Stressing the emotional impact of losing the TV.
And I feel it makes you,
Suggesting that losing the TV affects the listener as well.
The authority as unjustifying
Describing the authority as unjust, drawing a parallel to the speaker.
As a low life man like me,
Comparing the authority's justification to the speaker's actions.
You owe it to me!
Asserting a sense of entitlement, claiming that the authority owes something to the speaker.
After all, without TV
Highlighting the significance of TV in the speaker's life in jail.
What fun would jail be?
Questioning the enjoyment of jail without TV.
Not too fun you see,
Conveying that jail is not enjoyable without certain comforts.
It's guys like me that commit robbery,
Admitting to criminal activities like robbery and adultery.
Adultery, and other types of felonies,
Listing various felonies committed by individuals like the speaker.
Only to be sent to a penitentiary
Expressing the consequence of criminal actions - imprisonment in a penitentiary.
And waste all of your tax payer's money,
Highlighting the financial burden on taxpayers due to imprisonment.
