Breakfast
Life's Recipe: Reflecting on Breakfast, Luck, and Starting OverLyrics
Same bowl, same pan
Continuing to use the same utensils for cooking.
Same breakfast I've been havin'
Eating the same breakfast meal consistently.
Since the first time I set out on my own
Since the initial period of living independently.
Still feel like that kid
Despite aging, still feeling youthful.
But I remember everything I did since then
Recalling all experiences since then.
And I'm happy as hell here in my third Texas home
Happy in the current location despite moving multiple times within Texas.
Took a little bit of luck, but not that much
Some luck contributed to achievements, but not solely dependent on it.
Standing alongside the fire trucks
Being present during events like fire incidents, reflecting on life.
Thinking about what I thought I'd never know
Contemplating things previously thought unattainable.
Collect the last of my gifts
Gathering the final items given or received.
Lose the very same way I win
Experiencing wins and losses similarly.
Even when I'm down and out, nowadays I'm never alone
Feeling supported even during tough times, not alone.
I couldn't be bothered to pay it off
Unconcerned about settling debts.
So I tried to sell more than I bought
Attempting to sell more than purchase, managing finances.
Knew when it was time to start all over again
Knowing when to start anew after failures.
Made it to the bottom of every list
Reaching the lowest point or completing tasks.
But there's always something I missed
Always missing something despite efforts.
I'll be content and I'll be obsessed 'til the very end
Being satisfied yet driven until the end.
Now I'm doing the math, it's not that bad
Realizing the situation isn't as dire as perceived.
Keeping track of everything I've ever had
Keeping a record of possessions and experiences.
And the reasons why I decided to let it go
Understanding reasons for letting go of things.
Save what I can fix
Preserving what's reparable.
Use anything I build
Utilizing anything constructed or gained.
Repeat what I learn, you can skip my turn, I'm enjoying the show
Sharing learned lessons while enjoying others' turns.
