How can we have so far to go?
Expressing astonishment at the extensive distance still to be traversed.
That'll be the end of arms stretched wide,
Imagining the conclusion of reaching out for help and facing emptiness.
Of begging for bread, of emptiness inside.
Symbolizing the end of struggles for sustenance and inner emptiness.
And the sea, so wide and treacherous,
Repeating the depiction of the sea and land as formidable obstacles.
And the land, so dark and dangerous,
Reiterating the challenges of the journey being left far behind.
So far left behind.
Expressing the significant distance already covered and overcome.
That'll be the end of the war,
Echoing the earlier anticipation of the end of conflicts and wars.
When we finally lay down
