It was foggy and I couldn't see the freeway

Foggy conditions while driving, impeding visibility

I didn't care had to belt this hook by green day

But does that make me the one who is the basket case

Hit the guardrail, now I got glass on all my face

Crashed into a guardrail, resulting in facial injuries from shattered glass

Red in my vision now my eyes hurt from the contacts

Seeing red due to the vision impairment caused by broken contact lenses

Distracted driving I had no time to react

Acknowledging distracted driving and the inability to react in time

Now my moms gonna be pissed at me

Anticipating disapproval from his mother for not being cautious

Cause she told me to be smart and I failed you see

Reflecting on a failure to heed his mother's advice

Now that's a lesson

Labeling the experience as a lesson learned

But I survived that was a blessing

Avoided heaven

I've feared death since I was 7

But now I'm the one who has to pay for the damage

Bearing the consequences and responsibility for the accident

Can't get studio time cause I'm broke a disadvantage

Facing financial difficulties, hindering access to a recording studio

This was just something I had to come back from
