Moving gradually, drawing nearer to challenging situations.
Of self-indulgence of an empire wasted
Engaging in excessive self-gratification, describing a wasted empire.
Outside it's falling from its grace
Externally, witnessing a decline from a state of grace.
Is this all we have to show?
Expressing disappointment in the achievements or legacy.
The falling of a dynasty of sacred
Describing the downfall of a once-sacred dynasty.
Out of past into unknown
Transitioning from the past into an uncertain future.
It's in the cards but it's out of my hands
Referring to fate or destiny being beyond personal control.
Bleeding dry of any truth and any substance
Experiencing a depletion of truth and substance.
Drowned out and left to make us beg
Being overwhelmed and abandoned, prompting desperation.
For something more than a thrill instantaneous
Yearning for more than fleeting excitement.
The white noise paints us black again
Comparing the disturbance to static, darkening the perspective.
Is this all we have to show?
Reiterating disappointment in the achieved legacy.
The falling of a dynasty of sacred
Repeating the theme of the fall of a sacred dynasty.
Out of past into unknown
Reemphasizing the transition from the known past into uncertainty.
It's in the cards but it's out of my hands
Restating the idea of fate being beyond personal control.
Faded now, behold I stand before a dim lit sky
Describing a faded state, standing before an obscure future.
Only time now can tell me of a way I can find
Expressing reliance on time to reveal a way forward.
Some methodical procedure that can fill my soul
Seeking a methodical process to fill an emotional void.
Empty out the blackness and fill the hole
Metaphorically addressing the emptiness within.
Get me back on axis and out of the cold
Desiring a return to stability and warmth.
Leave me now to bring back the days of old
Requesting space to revive the past.
How can we go so easily from classics
Questioning the transition from esteemed classics to a low point.
To all-times of low?
Expressing a lack of shame in displaying greed.
No shame to show only our greed
Observing the depletion of life, particularly self-destructive behavior.
Taking the life from our own
Criticizing actions that harm oneself.
Bloodflow that once fueled the fires of all
Reflecting on the past vitality that fueled ambition.
Every now and then I see it all for what it's worth
Gaining occasional clarity about the situation's true value.
Empties out the blackness and fills the hole
Symbolically filling the emotional void and finding direction.
Gets me back on axis and out of the cold
Returning to stability and warmth metaphorically.
Leaves me now to bring back the days of old
Leaving the present to revive past glory.
