Lyrics
Everybody's got themselves a plan
People have individual plans for their lives.
And everybody thinks they'll be the man
Everyone believes they will achieve greatness.
Including the girls
This includes females as well.
The musicians who lack the friends to start
Those musicians lacking friends form singer-songwriter careers.
A band are singer-songwriters
The rest, like the narrator, become DJs or club photographers.
The rest of us are DJ's
The narrator is playing at Nambucca tonight.
Or official club photographers
The narrator contacts people in their phonebook to attend the show.
And tonight I'm playing another Nambucca show
Texting everyone known, and even some unknown contacts.
So I'm going through my phonebook and
Numbers of some individuals are in the narrator's phone without clear recall.
Texting everyone I know
Those unknown contacts might attend the show.
And quite a few I don't
Attendance is uncertain, and the outcome is unpredictable.
Whose numbers found their way into my phone
Numbers saved in the narrator's phone without clear knowledge of the owners.
But they might come along anyway
Even if unsure, those individuals might still come to the show.
You never really know
The uncertainty of who will attend the show.
None of this is going anywhere
The narrator feels that their efforts are not progressing.
And pretty soon we'll all be old
The realization that everyone will age and lose relevance.
No one left alive will really care
Future generations won't care about past achievements.
About our glory days when we sold our souls
Reflecting on past moments when they compromised their values.
'Cause if it's all about the destination
If life is about the end goal, take a quick route to it.
Then take a fucking flight
Emphasizing the journey, not just the destination.
We're going nowhere slowly
Life is progressing slowly without a clear direction.
But seeing all the sights
Despite the lack of direction, they are experiencing various aspects of life.
We're definitely going to hell
Acknowledging that they might face consequences for their actions.
But we'll have all the best stories to tell
Despite the potential consequences, they will have memorable stories.
Yeah, we're definitely going to hell
Reiterating the acknowledgment of facing consequences.
But we'll have all the best stories to tell
Emphasizing that these consequences will lead to great stories.
And I'm definitely going to hell
The narrator accepts the likelihood of facing consequences in the afterlife.
And I'll have all the best stories to tell
Despite this, they anticipate having incredible stories to share.
