Echoes of Life's Symphony: A Poetic Reflection by One True ThingLyrics
As my life has run its course,
Reflecting on the entirety of one's life journey.
And my words have lost their soul.
Feeling a lack of depth or meaning in one's words.
Sighing heavy with remorse,
Expressing deep regret and sorrow.
For the things I put on hold.
Regret for delaying or neglecting important things in life.
And when my name is carved in stone,
Contemplating one's legacy when memorialized.
And when my thoughts are not my own,
Feeling a loss of control over one's thoughts.
And when my children leave my home,
Anticipating the emptiness when children leave home.
And then I'm all alone!
Confronting the loneliness that follows life's stages.
All the rights that have gone wrong,
Reflecting on the consequences of past mistakes.
Will engrave me on this earth.
Believing that one's actions will leave a lasting impact.
I will sing a thousand songs,
Desiring acknowledgment and validation through expression.
Just to know that I've been heard.
Seeking assurance that one's voice has made an impact.
And as my days turn into nights,
Facing the challenges and uncertainties of aging.
I'll lose my grip and lose my sight.
Feeling a loss of control and clarity in life.
And when I'm looking towards the light,
Looking towards the light symbolizing life's end.
I'll know I've fought my fight!
Embracing the sense of accomplishment after facing life's struggles.
I will go, but will not be forgotten.
Expressing a desire for a lasting impact after death.
All these sins and nothing's been sinking in!
Acknowledging past mistakes without remorse.
As my life is flashing by,
Feeling a sense of time passing rapidly.
Not a chance to close my eyes!
Regret for not having moments of rest or reflection.

-And when my friends all move away,
Anticipating the loss of friends and physical changes with age.
My hair will fall and turn to gray.
Symbolizing the inevitability of aging through graying hair.
And when I'm lost without a home,
Conveying the feeling of being lost and without a place to belong.
And then I'm all alone!
