Just like the wheel that I'm turning now
Symbolizing a continuous cycle or journey in life.
I can't stop anymore, can't feel this out
Feeling a loss of control and sensation.
And the rising tide is all around you
Feeling surrounded or overwhelmed by challenges.
Even when I'm in a crowd, it's never hard to find you
Despite being in a crowd, the person is easily noticeable.
All the arms around you they can't touch you now
Protection from external influences or distractions.
Turned to rust evermore when they hear the sound
Things turning obsolete when confronted with a specific sound.
Of the wind and the rain on upturned faces
Nature's elements affecting emotions or experiences.
Everywhere you're not around, no matter where you are now
Feeling the absence of someone regardless of location.
It doesn't matter that the moon was down
The moon being down may represent a challenging or dark period.
Walking back from a party that we never found
Returning from an event that was elusive or unfulfilling.
Waiting for a car to stop that never came
Waiting for a solution or help that never materialized.
Had to walk back into town in the centre lane
Having to navigate challenges or obstacles without assistance.
Just to find our way and not fall off the earth again
Finding a way forward and avoiding a downward spiral.
All the time you thought that you were planning for
Investing time in planning for a future that didn't materialize.
All the dreams that you had about driving out
Unfulfilled dreams and aspirations related to escape or exploration.
In the night on the road, somewhere we're standing
Being in an uncertain or transitional phase at night on a journey.
Still living in the south, in the clothes of winter
Remaining in a state of winter, possibly metaphorically stagnant or cold.
