Reflecting on a bright past before the involvement with the person.

Repeating the acknowledgment of knowing the person.
I knew a few ways out and
Knowledge of a few escape routes, with most leading to negative outcomes.
Most of them were down
Emphasizing the challenging nature of available options.
But one of them led up
Despite challenges, one path led upwards.
Still I held my breath and sunk
Taking a risk, holding one's breath, and descending into uncertainty.
And saw thousand different diagrams of life still yet to come
Visualizing numerous possibilities for the future.
All were decayed as if left out in the sun
Imagery of decayed possibilities, possibly influenced by negative experiences.
Ripped and they were tattered some were only crumbs
Describing the fragility and deterioration of envisioned paths.
I was strung out I wasn't dumb
Acknowledging personal struggles and challenges.
Vulnerable but still underneath there was resilience
Acknowledging vulnerability but also emphasizing underlying strength and resilience.
The human mind so brilliant
Appreciating the brilliance of the human mind despite challenges.
I knew what must be done
Understanding what needs to be done to overcome challenges.
So I locked the door to never ending pits of empty fun
Deciding to avoid perpetual emptiness and superficial enjoyment.
I'm done, I've won
Expressing completion and victory over personal struggles.
