Lyrics
I painted a picture, of a day gone past
I created an image of a day that has passed.
An ancient scripture, a house of glass
Referencing something ancient and fragile, like a house made of glass.
People looking through the window
People observing from outside, looking through a window.
Never knowing what they'd find
They don't know what they'll discover.
When they couldn't see me
When those observers couldn't see me.
I locked the door, left them behind
I secured the door and moved away from them.
The sky will tell me... I'm not the only one
The sky holds a message indicating I'm not alone.
And the sky will tell me... I must believe the sun
The sky holds a message urging belief in the sun, possibly hope or positivity.
I shut my eyes, to not go blind
To avoid being overwhelmed, I close my eyes metaphorically.
Things I can't see, I see in my mind
Perceiving things that are invisible to the eye but clear in my mind.
Oh now the passing clouds of rain
Rain clouds that have moved past us.
Have surely passed us by
The difficulty or hardship has gone away.
Poor is the man
It's pitiable for someone who believes their own falsehood.
That believes his own lie
