Anticipation of future songs from the birds.
Well I go to work everyday
Engaging in daily work routine.
Just to be treated like less
Feeling undervalued and mistreated at work.
Than a human being
Expressing frustration at being treated poorly.
Well is this the state of my freedom
Questioning the state of personal freedom.
In the so called land of liberty
Reflecting on the concept of liberty in the country.
I go to work for two weeks at a time
Working for extended periods, sacrificing personal time.
Just so i can make it
Enduring work challenges for survival.

Frustration with the repetitive work cycle.
Oh I'm starting to hate my friends
Developing resentment towards friends.
And I don't want to be that way again
Desiring to avoid negative emotions towards friends.

Acknowledging the growing dislike for friends.

Determined not to let negative feelings define oneself.

Welcome to the world, questioning approval of surroundings.
Do you approve of everything you see
Reflecting on the messed-up aspects of the world.
The world has a fucked up sense of mercy
Commenting on the world's harsh lack of mercy.
The world will kick you in your teeth
Life's challenges can be painful and unexpected.
And while you are reeling from the pain
Experiencing the aftermath of life's blows.
Time stops
Time seems to stand still during difficult moments.
You can take a sec to plan accordingly
Opportunity to plan and adapt during challenging times.
And it's alright to just survive
Acceptance of the struggle to survive.
