Negative Space
Embracing Absence: Samantha Margret's Poetic VoidLyrics
The spaces in between my fingers
The gaps between my fingers
Empty passenger side, empty drawers
Empty seat for a passenger, vacant drawers
This place is quiet where you linger
This place is silent in the areas where you stay
A hollow outline of a shape like yours
An empty representation resembling your form
I don't do well without you
I struggle to function well in your absence
Just lines to trace
Only lines to follow or imitate
Somebody tell me what do I do
Seeking guidance on what actions to take
With this negative space
Dealing with the void or emptiness
Your silhouette in every shadow
Your shadow present in every darkness
Edges of you that still cut me deep
Remnants of you still causing emotional pain
Press my bruises so that I know
Touching my wounds to confirm the presence of sweetness in the emptiness
The sweetness hiding in the vacancy
The pleasing aspect concealed within the void
I don't do well without you
Struggling to cope without your presence
Just lines to trace
Only lines to follow or imitate
Somebody tell me what do I do
Seeking guidance on what actions to take
With this negative space
Dealing with the void or emptiness
Trying to fill it just left me worse off
Attempts to fill the emptiness have worsened my condition
Sit in the ache until even it's gone
Sitting with the pain until it eventually fades away
I don't do well without you
Struggling to cope without your presence
Just lines to trace
Only lines to follow or imitate
Somebody tell me what do I do
Seeking guidance on what actions to take
With this negative space
Dealing with the void or emptiness
