Lost in the Stars
Celestial Reflections: A Tale of Divine Promises and Human LongingLyrics
Before Lord God made the sea or the land
Before the creation of the sea or land by God.
He held all the stars in the palm of his hand
God had control over all the stars, holding them in his hand.
And they ran through his fingers like grains of sand
The stars slipped through God's fingers like grains of sand.
And one little star fell alone
A single star fell, becoming isolated.
Then the Lord God hunted through the wide night air
God searched the vast night sky for the fallen dark star.
For the little dark star in the wind down there
The little star was in the wind below, and God sought it.
And he stated and promised he'd take special care
God made a statement and promised to take special care of the star.
So it wouldn't get lost no more
To prevent it from getting lost again.
Now, a man don't mind if the stars get dim
A person doesn't mind if stars lose brightness.
And the clouds blow over and darken him
Clouds may darken a person as long as God is watching over.
So long as the Lord God's watching over him
As long as God is monitoring, a person is content.
Keeping track how it all goes on
God is keeping track of everything.
But I've been walking through the night and the day
The speaker has been wandering through day and night.
Till my eyes get weary and my head turns gray
Eyes are weary, and head turns gray from the journey.
And sometimes it seems maybe God's gone away
At times, it seems like God has abandoned them.
Forgetting his promise and the word he'd say
Forgetting the promise and the words spoken by God.
And we're lost out here in the stars
We are lost in the stars, feeling abandoned.
Little stars big stars blowing through the night
Stars of various sizes are drifting through the night.
And we're lost out here in the stars
Reiteration of the feeling of being lost in the stars.
Little stars big stars blowing through the night
Repetition of stars blowing through the night.
And we're lost out here in the stars
We are still lost in the vastness of the stars.
