Lost at Sea: A Pirate's Tale of Loneliness and RumLyrics
On a lonely island
Feeling isolated on a desolate island
Shipwrecked on a shore
Stranded on the shore due to a shipwreck
I will never see its flag: the ship I'm waiting for
Anticipation of a ship's arrival, but it seems unlikely
Never gonna meet em again my entire life:
Expectation of never reuniting with family members
My daddy granny and my wife, my brother and my son
List of family members lost, emphasizing the loneliness
But I do still have a bottle of rum!!
Finding solace in having a bottle of rum despite the circumstances
Harbour tavern 3 am I'm sitting in a bar
Describing a scene in a tavern at 3 am
No laughter in the captains throat
The captain is not in a joyful mood
And also no yarrharr
No pirate-like exclamations (yarrharr) indicative of distress
I have lost my ship and crew
Admitting the loss of ship and crew
I feel pretty dumb
Feeling foolish or regretful about the situation
My confidence, pride and self esteem are gone
Losing confidence, pride, and self-esteem due to the misfortune
Quite seldom for a pirate
Highlighting the rarity of pirates going on dates
to go out on a date
Going on a date is not a common practice for pirates
And if we do we see it as
Viewing a date as a positive sign of fate
a good will sign of fate
Expressing the unexpected rejection during dates
Well every time I do so she rejects me much to fast
Encountering swift and frequent rejections during dates
She throws some things,
Escalation of conflict during dates, involving thrown objects
yells at me I were another scum!
Being yelled at and labeled as scum during conflicts
But I do still have a bottle of rum!!
Finding comfort in having a bottle of rum despite personal issues
