But recoil in disgust when it's spoken in another tongue

Ignorant
Labeling someone as lacking knowledge or awareness.

Questioning the difficulty of reading and expanding one's understanding.
Just to expand your own understanding?

Just a little a compassion and maybe someday they won't feel so afraid

So damn righteous but hell's torment is what you deserve

Calling for criticism and condemnation, emphasizing a cycle of learning nothing.
Crucify, repeat, learning nothing
Using religious imagery to convey a sense of repetition and lack of growth.
It's about damn time you swallowed the knife,
Urging the person to confront their own destructive tendencies.
Feel the sting of the blade as you curl up in shame
Imagining the person experiencing remorse and shame.
You keep a watchful eye on those you despise,
Observing the person's scrutiny of others despite being blinded by their own biased views.
But you're kept so blind by views you've let metastasise
Highlighting the person's ignorance and closed-mindedness.
