Life of the Party
Celebrating Life's Tapestry: A Sunray Minor MelodyLyrics
I'm going to the party
I'm heading to the party
To see everyone I know
To meet all the people I'm familiar with
My friends who come in pairs
My friends, some in romantic relationships
And even those who don't
And even those who are single
It's been quite a while
It's been a considerable amount of time
A hundred years or so
A metaphorical "hundred years" or so
And I'm not being drastic
I'm not exaggerating, but it feels like a familiar place
But it sure feels like home
The party has a comforting atmosphere
And to think everyone of us will die, someday
Contemplating mortality, acknowledging that everyone will eventually die
I'm just glad we took this night to celebrate our lives, hooray!
Expressing gratitude for taking this night to celebrate life
I found out Kenny had a baby
Discovering that Kenny has become a father
And he looks just like Charlie Brown
The baby resembles the iconic character Charlie Brown
Will just lost his job
Learning that Will lost his job
But I never saw him frown
Remarkably, Will remains optimistic
The twins still have their own opinions
Indicating that the twins maintain individual perspectives
No they never quite agree
They never fully agree on politics or the impact of cigarettes
'Bout politics or cigarettes
Referencing a debate on environmental concerns
Which one kills more trees
Choosing unity tonight, putting aside differences for freedom
Tonight they put their differences aside, to be free
Diane contributes her famous apple pie for the celebration
'Cause Diane made her famous apple pie, for us to eat
Feeling disoriented or intoxicated as it approaches 3 o'clock
My visions getting hazy
Noticing the party has attracted attention, perhaps from neighbors
I think it's nearing 3 o'clock
Suggesting a potential disturbance or noise complaint
I guess we got too loud
Deciding to leave because of the disturbance
Someone called the cops
Recognizing the consequences of the party getting out of hand
Either way it's getting late and I best be getting home
Realizing it's late and it's time to go home
Because after all we've violated, I can't do this all night long
Acknowledging the limits and consequences of their actions
So I kicked the neighbours garden gnome
Playfully misbehaving by kicking a neighbor's garden gnome
And said goodbye to everyone
Bidding farewell to everyone at the party
To think everyone of us will die, someday
Reflecting again on the inevitability of death
I'm just glad we took this night to celebrate our lives, hooray!
Reiterating gratitude for celebrating life on this night
