Unveiling the Harsh Truth: Confronting Reality's MaskLyrics
The uncreative juices flow from all but a selective few
The majority lack creative inspiration or originality.
And even those they tend to be wasted,
Even the creative ones often waste their potential.
You have taken pride in a lifeform that you think you know
You've taken pride in understanding a lifeform (humanity) that's decaying.
But what you do not know is it's rotting,
You're unaware of its degradation.
It is so unfortunate that this is how our world must be
Expresses disappointment in the state of the world.
But why must I accept reality, is this reality?
Questioning acceptance of the harsh reality of the world.
How can I exist amongst you people when I feel this way
Feeling disconnected and unable to relate to others due to conflicting feelings.
When all that seems so wrong is everywhere,
Observing pervasive wrongness in the world.
A world without substance feeling so superior
Criticizing a world lacking substance and feeling superior without reason.
I am discontent with lies and with ineffective lives,
Discontent with falsehoods and ineffective lives.
Should I grieve for mankind or live out my life
Questioning whether to mourn for humanity or live self-fulfilled.
To be free of pain I'll want it back again,
Desiring to be free from pain but acknowledging its inevitability.
So to be one with man I must be false to myself
To blend in, one must sacrifice personal authenticity.
Any effort's futile for my life is just mine,
Perceiving life as an individual's own, futile effort.
I have visions of worlds that are unparalleled
Having unique visions of unprecedented worlds.
My attempts are in vain to walk this earth without shame,
Struggling to navigate life without shame but failing.
For being human,
Expressing frustration about the human condition.
This is my reality and you do not have to accept it
Asserting personal reality that others needn't accept.
You are only human with excuses and complaints,
Challenging excuses and complaints of being 'only human.'
Couldn't you be something greater come on now you know the answer
Urging individuals to aspire to be something greater.
You are so absorbed with your own pathetic lives,
Highlighting absorption in petty lives.
Why should I feel pity for you I don't think I know the answer,
Questioning the need for pity while lacking answers.
Have you ever thought about opening your closed eyes,
Encouraging introspection and open-mindedness.
What is it that you're afraid of, don't you want to see yourself,
Asking why one fears self-reflection.
Couldn't bear to see yourself as I see you.
Challenging reluctance to see oneself honestly.
