There's a belief that one can perceive or sense his presence if one pays close attention.

Only when genuinely attentive, one might discern his presence or message.
And pray for that feeling of grace
Desiring the sensation of divine favor or mercy through prayer.
But that's what I'm doing, why doesn't he answer?
Despite praying earnestly, there's a lack of response or acknowledgment from the divine.
I've prayed 'til I'm blue in the face

But sometimes I long for a sign, anything
Despite knowing it's discouraged, there's a yearning for any indication or signal from the divine.
Something to wake up the whole congregation
Hoping for something to rouse the entire congregation into spiritual awakening.
And finally make up my mind
Desiring a revelation or clarity to make a definitive decision.
