Refusing to be subjected to severe punishment or treatment.

Mention of impending catastrophic events led by destructive forces.
Murderous apocalypse
A vision of a violent and disastrous end.
I will lay waste
I will destroy and devastate.
To the expectation
Rejecting the anticipation of conforming to expectations.
Of falling in line
Not succumbing to the pressure of following the crowd.
Of joining ranks
Refusing to align with the increasing numbers of people.
With the swelling masses
Not joining the masses or conforming to societal expectations.
Of picking up the call to values
Rejecting the call to adopt certain values.
The smiling hatred and
Describing insincere friendliness and heartless language.
Discompassionate doublespeak
Rejecting fake compassion and hypocritical speech.
I will not bow my head
Refusing to submit or show deference.
To the masters
Not yielding to those in control.
Power and commerce
Resistance against dominant powers and economic systems.
Under god
Challenging authority, possibly religious or societal.
Beasts wrapped in the cloths
Powerful entities disguised in the garments of moral virtue.
Of righteousness
False claims of righteousness and virtue.
Implausible claims of equal access
Unbelievable assertions of equal opportunities.
To the wealth of the few
Access to the wealth of a select few is not truly open to everyone.
To chase what dreams we have yet to abandon
Pursuing aspirations that have not been abandoned yet.
We build their dreams
We are constructing and supporting their dreams.
We feed our bodies
Our physical bodies are nourished to sustain their dreams.
We feed our lives
Our lives are devoted to building their dreams.
To build their dreams
We sacrifice ourselves to fulfill their dreams.
But have no illusions
A reminder not to be deceived or have false beliefs.
We've seen behind the masks
We have seen through the facades and illusions.
And we keep our true selves from them
Keeping our true selves hidden from them.
Until they kill us
Continuing to conceal our authentic selves until they cause our demise.
Until we die
They will never capture our emotions and thoughts even in death.
They'll never win our hearts and minds
