Acknowledging that the best days are in the past.
Pickin' up hookers instead of my pen
Choosing casual relationships over expressing oneself through writing.
I let the words of my youth fade away
Allowing the expressive words of youth to fade away.
Old worn-out saddles, and old worn-out memories
Possessing old and worn-out saddles and memories with no stable place to stay.
But no one and no place to stay
No permanent home or companionship.
My heroes have always been cowboys
Continuing to hold cowboys as my heroes.
