Seeking a clear indication or guidance from a higher power.
I regret this path of mine
Feeling remorseful about the choices made in life.
I went astray on my crooked road
Strayed from the right path, deviated onto a morally questionable or problematic journey.
Choices I made became a heavy load
Decisions made led to burdensome consequences or responsibilities.
When I grew up
Transitioned into adulthood.
I hung with thugs
Associated with a delinquent or criminal group of people.
I started drinking and went on drugs
Started consuming alcohol and using drugs.
Doing crimes and sent to jail
Engaged in criminal activities resulting in imprisonment.
Please help me Lord 'cause I have failed
Pleading for assistance from a higher power due to personal failure.
Lord when on parole
During a period of being conditionally released from prison.
To manage outI robbed and stole
Resorted to theft and robbery for survival or gain.
Being caught doing my crime
Caught while committing a crime.
And once again I was doing time
Returned to imprisonment due to criminal actions.
Throughout my life I've truely tried
Attempted sincerely throughout life to improve but faced repeated failures.
To straighten up but always slide
Struggled to maintain positive changes and consistently relapsed.
A broken man without no faith
Feeling emotionally and spiritually shattered, lacking belief or trust.
Dear Lord help me turn strait
Pleading for divine guidance to change direction in life.
Lord I'm sitting here
Reflecting on life's choices and circumstances.
The end of life it is so near
Sensing the proximity of death or the end of life.
It's hard for me but I try to pray
Struggling but attempting to communicate with a higher power through prayer.
To straighten up before my dying day
Desiring to amend one's ways before passing away.
Oh! Lord I'm out of time
Running out of time, nearing the end of life's possibilities.
Soon I'll be hanged for my latest crime
Expecting punishment, possibly death penalty, for the most recent criminal act.
I hope you hear this prayer of mine
Pleading for the higher power to listen and respond to the prayer.
Oh! help me Lord give me a sign
Requesting a clear indication or guidance from the divine.
