Heaven Heals
Heavenly Healing: Embracing Forgiveness and Grace in GoodbyesLyrics
Goodbyes are never easy no, and goodbyes never tire
Parting is always difficult, and farewells never lose their emotional weight
Of making me feel guilty for being dragged through time
Farewells make me feel guilty as they force me through the passage of time
You were standing in my doorway as the seconds raced the snails
You were present in my doorway as time moved slowly
Because you wouldn't let me leave you without driving those last few nails
You insisted on not letting me go without making the separation more painful
I guess that's how it works here
Reflecting on the inevitability of such situations
But Heaven holds a promise for every friend we've left behind
Despite goodbyes, there is a promise of reunion in Heaven for every departed friend
And time is not the ruler that I thought he was
The perception of time as an absolute ruler is flawed
Someday soon well wake up to see each other running
Anticipating a future where we reconcile and meet again
Arms open all is forgiven when Heaven heals
In Heaven, all is forgiven, and reconciliation is complete
Its been a few weeks since that message that I left to feed the lie
Several weeks have passed since the misleading message I left to sustain a falsehood
That communications open when we both know that has died
Despite the appearance of open communication, we both acknowledge its demise
I wish that were the nobler thing
Expressing a desire for a more honorable course of action
But Heaven holds a promise for every friend we've left behind
Reiterating the promise of reunion in Heaven for departed friends
And time is not the ruler that I thought he was
Time is not as controlling as previously believed
Someday soon well wake up to see each other running
Envisioning a time when we wake up to find ourselves reconciled and running towards each other
Arms open all is forgiven when Heaven heals
Heaven brings complete forgiveness and healing
It cannot be right just to leave you
Expressing the internal conflict of leaving
But God its just too hard to stick around
Acknowledging the difficulty of staying
Maybe herein lies the place where grace starts
Suggesting that true grace may begin when faced with difficulty
That when were both lost then God is found
In moments of mutual loss, the presence of God becomes evident
