Imagery of delicate, fine strands of clouds
And ice cream castles in the air
Visions of fanciful, unrealizable dreams
And feather canyons everywhere
Beautiful natural formations everywhere
Looked at clouds that way
Perspective of looking at clouds in a specific way
But now they only block the sun
Clouds now hinder instead of inspire
They rain and they snow on everyone
Clouds bring inconvenience and discomfort to everyone
So many things I would have done
Regrets for missed opportunities due to obstacles
But clouds got in my way
Clouds becoming a hindrance in pursuing goals
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
Examining clouds from various perspectives
From up and down and still somehow
Despite different views, understanding remains elusive
It's cloud illusions I recall
Recollection of cloud-like illusions
I really don't know clouds at all
Lack of true understanding of clouds
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
Imagery of romanticized notions (months, love, happiness)
The dizzy dancing way that you feel
Feeling of euphoria and excitement
As every fairy tale comes real
Belief in the realization of fairy tale-like love
I've looked at love that way
Viewing love in an idealistic way
But now it's just another show
Love becomes a superficial, theatrical experience
And you leave 'em laughing when you go
Leaving without revealing true emotions
And if you care, don't let them know
Advice to hide genuine feelings
Don't give yourself away
Warning against exposing oneself too much
I've looked at love from both sides now
Observing love from different perspectives
From give and take and still somehow
Despite understanding, genuine love remains elusive
It's love's illusions that I recall
Recollection of love's misleading nature

Emotional experiences—sadness, pride, love
To say, "I love you" right out loud
Expressing love openly
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
Ideas and ambitions in a bustling environment
I've looked at life that way
Perceiving life in a particular way
Oh, but now old friends they're acting strange
Not recognizing familiar people’s behavior
And they shake their heads and they tell me that I've changed
Others noticing personal changes
Well something's lost, but something's gained
Loss and gain in the journey of living
In living every day
Learning through everyday experiences

From win and lose and still somehow
Despite victories and losses, understanding remains elusive
