Highlighting judgment from a select few.
Who step inside to feast upon, what's left of me
Describing the intrusion and consumption of the self.
What's left of me
Reiterating the diminishing sense of self.
Middle men who claim dominion
Referring to intermediaries claiming authority.
And tell me how to sing
Being instructed on how to express oneself.
I'm not your prodigy
Rejecting the label of being someone's prodigy.
I'm not something to mould
Asserting independence and resistance to shaping.
I just wanna be myself
Expressing a desire for authenticity.
You offer me your words
Receiving words from others, possibly insincerely.
Like a cliché in the rain
Comparing received words to a cliché in the rain.
Talking endless nonsense
Criticizing meaningless and incessant talk.
Without considering
Pointing out a lack of consideration in communication.
That you could just be wrong
Suggesting the possibility of others being wrong.
It's just a thought
Reflecting on a thought without explicit judgment.
