Lyrics
What have we done
Reflecting on past actions or choices.
Never thought that life would come to this
Unexpectedly facing a difficult situation in life.
Eternal sense of self hatred
Enduring a persistent self-loathing feeling.
Blame not who, but ask us why we did
Questioning the reasons behind actions, not blaming specific individuals.
This is an open book of failure
An admission that their life is marked by failures.
Deceive ourselves all that we can, so we can be
Engaging in self-deception for self-preservation.
Cycle of life disrupted
Disruption in the natural cycle of life.
Halted by a force too close to home
Life paused abruptly due to a close-to-home force.
Guilt runs through our blood
A sense of guilt ingrained in their existence.
Close your eyes and let yourself forget
Encouraging escape from guilt through denial.
This guilt runs on and on
Perpetual continuation of guilt.
Consumed all sense gone
Loss of rationality, overwhelmed by failure.
Torn, these wings of spirit
Spiritual essence damaged and torn.
Godless relations
Relationships devoid of divine influence.
Scar this heart beyond all hope to heal
Emotional wounds too deep to recover from.
This being won't meet this world
A being unable to adapt to the world.
I know I'll take this to my grave
An acknowledgment of carrying failures to the end of life.
All but saved
Almost, but not completely, saved from failure.
Die for us my child
A plea for sacrifice for the sake of others.
This is an open book of failure
Reiteration of life as an open book of failure.
Deceive ourselves all that we can,
Continued self-deception for self-preservation.
So we can be
(Blank line)
I walk each step in anger
Walking through life with a pervasive anger.
Found in fault in our design
Finding faults in the design of life.
Now I kneel down to pray
Kneeling down to pray for a better future.
To plead for a better time
Pleading for improvement in the current circumstances.
Now I kneel down to pray
(Repetition of line 31)
In hopes to awake from this
Praying for awakening from the current state of affairs.
Die my child
A directive for a symbolic death, perhaps of innocence or hope.
