Reflecting on previous communication about an injury.
Cut my thumb off at the knuckle on a broken band saw
Describing a workplace accident involving a band saw.
Didn't see the belt buckle or the blade slip
Noticing the belt buckle and blade slip during the accident.
And I remember when the doctor did it up with a stitch
Recalling the doctor stitching up the thumb after the accident.
Funny thing...still got a scratch that I can't itch where my thumb was
Noting a persistent itch where the thumb was amputated.
Now I've brought the same piece of chicken in a bag to work everyday
Bringing the same lunch to work daily over many years.
For the last twenty years or so
Expressing acceptance of routine on the assembly line.
And I really don't mind, work assembly line
Contentment with the assembly line job.
Got an intercom blasting the news and the latest on the baseball scores
Describing the work environment with an intercom and news updates.
Come around every Friday, well I get a paycheck
Receiving a weekly paycheck and the routine of it being a living.
Take the same road home that I come to work on, heck, it's a living
Commute from work to home and acknowledging it as part of life.
And I got another factory at home
Having another "factory" or a domestic life at home.
Got a barbeque, pink mustang, fenders chrome
Listing elements of the domestic life, including a pink mustang.
And at nine o'clock I sit there in my chair
Reflecting on sitting in a chair at 9 o'clock.
And I don't know why I lose my hair
Expressing confusion about losing hair without clear cause.
And then I go to / and then I go to / and then I go to sleep
Transitioning to going to sleep.
Well I like to know what I'm doing when I do it
Desiring clarity and purpose in actions.
And I do what I'm doing 'cause I don't know what to do when I'm not doing it
Performing tasks without a clear sense of purpose.
Sometimes I remember as a boy my father told me I could grow up
Recalling father's advice about unlimited future possibilities.
To be anything I really wanted to be / anything
Reflecting on childhood aspirations and potential.
And everyday at lunch I still look for my lost digit
Continuing to look for a missing thumb during lunch.
Still got that funny scratch, so maybe when I find it I can itch it
Hoping to find and relieve an elusive itch related to the injury.
And I got a little rubber pool in the backyard for the kids to wade in
Having a small pool for children in the backyard.
And i....i...i...i...i...i?
An unclear expression or stammering.
I got another factory back home
Repeating the concept of having a domestic life at home.

Reiterating elements of the domestic life, including a pink mustang.
At nine o'clock I'm in my chair sat down
Sitting in a chair at 9 o'clock at home.
Just lately now when my wife talks back to me I slap her around
Noting recent aggression towards the wife.
And then I go to / and then I go to / and then I go to sleep
Finalizing the day and going to sleep.
