Because of summer and the way it makes me feel like me
The anticipation for tomorrow is fueled by the personal authenticity felt during summer.
And I want to see tomorrow because

I am slowly beginning to see and believe just how good this life can be
There's a gradual realization and acceptance of the inherent goodness within life.
Here there are poems that need to be written
The present moment harbors untold stories that are waiting to be expressed through poetry.
Books that are ready to be read
Books are ready to be explored and absorbed in the present and future.
And dogs that need to be pet
There are affectionate interactions, like petting dogs, that await in the future.
And here she is by my side and I think we're hitting our stride
The presence and connection with a significant other evoke a sense of reaching an optimal state in life.
I want to see tomorrow
The yearning to witness and embrace the coming tomorrow is reiterated.
Because I miss my family and Florida
The longing to reunite with family and a place, Florida, is expressed.
And the way the sunrise hits the ocean's waves
The beauty of natural phenomena, like the sunrise meeting the ocean's waves, is missed and anticipated.
Because I finally listened to Jesus and started resting
A shift towards heeding the advice of Jesus and learning to rest has brought about significant positive changes.
And this has changed everything
This change in perspective has had a profound impact on life.
And because of diners that believe in the five sweetest words
The appreciation for places (like diners) that offer comfort and familiarity is emphasized.
Breakfast food served all day
A specific attraction to the availability of breakfast food throughout the day.
I want to see tomorrow
The desire to witness tomorrow is reiterated yet again.
Because I'm still waiting and praying to be called dad
Hopeful anticipation and yearning to embrace the role of a father.
Because of conversations with Trevor and old fashioneds with Aaron
The value of meaningful conversations and shared moments with specific individuals.
And I think it's time to go back to Cancun
A desire to revisit a place, in this case, Cancun, is expressed.
And although the future freaks me out
Admitting the anxiety or apprehension toward what the future holds.
Fear has never been a good enough reason
Recognizing that fear alone isn’t a strong enough reason to hinder progression into the unknown.
To keep me from stepping into the unknown
A willingness to step into uncharted territories despite fear.
And when I slow down I can see how there is joy all around me
Observing and acknowledging the presence of joy in the surroundings when one slows down.
Something inside me believes that for all I have done and felt and wondered
A belief that despite past experiences and uncertainties, there's an undiscovered part of the narrative, and hope prevents its premature conclusion.
There is more to the story and hope keeps this story from ending
Aspiring to live a life characterized by mercy, kindness, creativity, and steadfastness.
And I want to live a story of mercy and kindness and creativity and faithfulness
A desire to live a life that encourages others to continue their own beautiful journey.
A life that invites you to continue because it is a beautiful thing to continue
Personal commitment to spreading hope and contributing what remains.
And I'll continue because I still have hope to spread
An acknowledgment that both the self and others possess something left to offer.
And a little something left to give
The recognition that today is our only reality.
And so do you
The inevitability of the arrival of the future, despite the emphasis on today.
Today is all we have and
