Twenty three years and I'm looking back at the boy I was

Struggles with the difficulty of sobriety.

I fully understand the desire to be anywhere but where I am
Understanding the temptation to escape from present circumstances.
So I'll take another puff and hope that it's enough
Using substances to alleviate discomfort and yearning for a sense of belonging.
To make this place feel like home
Hoping to find a sense of home and comfort.
'Cause I enjoy myself the most when I'm alone
Enjoys personal fulfillment in solitude.
Maybe that's the key to living life
