My Lord God
Addressing the divine with reverence, "My Lord God."
I have no idea where I am going
Expressing uncertainty about the future and life's direction.
I do not see the road ahead of me
Acknowledging a lack of clarity regarding the path ahead.
I cannot know for certain where it will end,
Emphasizing the unpredictable nature of the journey.
Nor do I really know myself
Admitting a limited understanding of oneself.
And the fact that I think that I am following your will
Reflecting on the belief of following divine will.
Does not mean that I am actually doing so
Highlighting the potential disconnection between perceived and actual alignment with divine will.
I believe that my desire to please you does in fact please you
Expressing the belief that the desire to please God is genuine.
And I hope that I have this desire in all that I am doing
Hoping to maintain the desire to please God in all actions.
And I know that if I do this
Expressing confidence in the positive outcomes of aligning with divine will.
You will lead me by the right road
Believing that following divine will leads to the right path.
And I will trust you always
Committing to trust in the divine, even in challenging times.
Though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death
Acknowledging the possibility of feeling lost and facing difficulties.
I will not fear
Declaring a resolution not to succumb to fear.
For you are ever with me
Affirming the constant presence of the divine.
And never will you leave me
Expressing confidence in the perpetual companionship of the divine.
To face my perils alone
Rejecting the idea of facing challenges alone, relying on divine support.
