Love's Stormy Confessions: Clara Mann's Poetic JourneyLyrics
I said you could have asked me
I expressed that you had the opportunity to inquire from me
But you didn't want to know
However, you were not interested in finding out
Then the wind blew in and something took the fight out of us both
Then a change occurred, and something drained the determination from both of us
And even when we're laughing, don't you sometimes feel alone
Even during moments of laughter, there's a sense of isolation at times
Maybe storms are made for lovers to walk each other home
Perhaps storms are meant for lovers to navigate together towards their shared destination
So you swear you love me,
You assert your love for me
But who are you to say
But who are you to make such claims
When you still believe I'll break your heart somewhere along the way
While you still anticipate that I will eventually hurt you in some way
You want to hear confessions, well I'm twisted out of shape
You desire to hear confessions, yet I am emotionally disoriented
Somehow we just keep crashing on and on, and through each broken day
We continue to collide repeatedly, enduring through each day that is marked by brokenness
You know I love to ramble
I enjoy wandering and talking aimlessly
But you're a quiet I can't fill
However, your silence is an emptiness I cannot fill
And suddenly I've lost my grip, and everything's stood still
Suddenly, I've lost control, and everything has come to a standstill
I'm falling like I used to, before you knew me well
I'm descending into a state reminiscent of the past, before you truly understood me
And I remember how we fought in spring, and only blame myself,
I recall our conflicts in spring, and I hold myself responsible
Well, I can only blame myself
Well, the only person I can blame is myself
So if you have some judgement,
If you harbor any judgments
Don't let it hang for long
Don't let them linger for too long
If the storm comes in for us, then we can walk each other home.
If a storm approaches us, then we can support each other on the journey home
