The sunny sky was smiling when the river turned to blood
The atmosphere was pleasant, but the situation turned grim.
The pantries full of frogs and all our nostrils full of bugs
The storage rooms were filled with unexpected challenges, and we faced difficulties.
With a boil on my thigh as clouds of locusts hid the sun
A personal affliction occurred as a swarm of troubles obscured hope.
There must have been a "why" but I don't see a smoking gun
There may have been a reason, but I cannot find clear evidence.
But so it goes, so it goes
Despite challenges, life continues.
And it might not help to know
Understanding the situation may not provide comfort.
But so it goes
Nevertheless, life persists.
Well the devil and the angels played a game to test the weak
Forces of good and evil engaged in a trial to assess vulnerability.
The devil bet on reason and the angels bet on me
The devil favored logic, while angels placed their bet on the individual.
So now I'm naked as a newborn and I'm laden with disease
Exposed and burdened with challenges, akin to a newborn facing illness.
There might have been a "why" but I feel like their guinea pig
There may be a reason, but I feel like an experimental subject.
But so it goes, so it goes
Despite hardships, life moves forward.
And it might not help to know
Understanding the situation may not bring solace.
But so it goes, so it goes
Nevertheless, life persists.
And in some way I'm not alone
In some way, I find companionship amidst challenges.
And so it goes
Life continues its course.
While sweating in Gethsemane, I prayed one final prayer
Amidst hardship, a final prayer was offered in a difficult moment.
To find the crack in everything, the truth within the dare
Seeking truth in adversity, embracing challenges with courage.
Now I'll take up this old cross to see just how much I can bear
Taking on burdens willingly to test personal limits.
There might not be a "why" but I don't know, I don't care
Uncertain of a reason, but indifferent to the unknown.
So it goes, so it goes
Life persists despite uncertainties.
And it might not help to know
Understanding the situation may not offer reassurance.
But so it goes, so it goes
Nevertheless, life continues.
And in some way I'm not alone
In some way, there is a sense of shared experience amidst challenges.
