I used to feel the emptiness inside me

I was not supposed to feel that way

I had all the material possessions I required
But nothing ever made me what I longed to be
Yet, nothing fulfilled my inner longing
The wealth, the name the lights, the fame
Wealth, fame, and recognition were my pursuits
Were everything to me and then one night
These external achievements were everything until one night
Out of the blue i heard His name (Jesus)
Unexpectedly, I heard the name of Jesus
And so I took that step of faith
Responding to this, I took a step of faith
And walked into His domain
I entered into a relationship with Him
I believe that's what He wants
I believe this is what He desires
Every heart to do
He wants every heart to take this step
When hard may seem the task
Even when the task seems challenging
One step is all He asks of you
He only requires a single step from us
Letting go to know the truth
Releasing attachments to discover the truth
Is not so hard to do
It's not a difficult thing to do
It’s the heart that's got the will
It requires a willing heart to open up
To open up for Him to fill
So that God can fill it
And trusting and believing Him
Trusting and believing in Him is essential
Is all we've got to do
These are the actions we need to take
It’s just the heart that's got to move
It's the heart that needs to initiate movement
For Him to show His love that's been there
For Him to reveal His enduring love
Even when we never cared
Even when we were indifferent
Take hold of His hand
Grasp His hand and surrender
Let go and you'll understand why be afraid
Let go, and understanding will follow, don't be afraid
For God knows what you're feeling
God understands your emotions
But even He can't do a thing
But even He is limited if the heart is unwilling
If He sees the heart's not willing
Without a willing heart, His intervention is restricted
And so we ask what's going on
We question the situation
We want what’s right and still do wrong
Desiring what's right but still choosing wrong
When hard may seem the task
Even when the task appears daunting
One step is all He asks of you
A single step is all that is asked
I guess by now you’d realize
By now, realization dawns
You can't be on your own and all your cares
You can't face life alone; entrust your worries to Him
And all your burdens
All your concerns and burdens
Should be cast upon His throne
Should be placed at His throne
Letting go, just let go, letting go
Letting go, a call to release and surrender
Let go and you’ll understand
Release control, and understanding will follow
Just let go and you'll understand
Simply let go, and clarity will come
