Lyrics
Every single day I watch the dead parade
Observing a daily spectacle of lifelessness and routine
The TV's on like opium
Television serves as a numbing escape
Superstars are raging
Famous personalities display intense emotions
Stupid, loud and highly engaging
These celebrities are foolish, noisy, and captivating
There goes the gravy train
The era of easy success and wealth is coming to an end
The day changes, a million faces line up
The environment changes, countless people queue up
To star in this over rated dream
To participate in an overrated and exaggerated fantasy
Or so it seems
Or at least that's the perception
This is not real, will not last, does not feel
Rejecting the illusion, asserting it is temporary, devoid of genuine emotions
Like the touch of a glorious life
Comparing it unfavorably to a glorious and fulfilling life
This is the worst kind of wasted
Expressing the most regrettable form of squandered potential
'Cause now you're standing here
Highlighting the current state of realization and self-reflection
Wondering why you sold yourself
Questioning the reasons for compromising one's integrity
More frequently I'm scared by what I see
Expressing increasing fear caused by the depicted reality
The media beautifies, calculates and lies
Media distorts, calculates, and fabricates information
The mindless becomes free
People devoid of critical thinking become liberated
Flies in the face of someone else's misery
Challenging someone else's suffering in a thoughtless manner
Laughs at the insanity
Mocking the absurdity and irrationality of the situation
