Feeling overwhelmed, needing to pause and reflect.


We used to dread lives rendered ordinary

Previously fearing a mundane existence.

We always said we'd own a grander story

Aspiring to have a more remarkable life story.

But the only kind worth telling somehow

Realizing the only worthwhile stories involve profound moments.

Is the one about a jolt that makes you listen

Recognizing a significant event that compels attention.

That jagged lightning bolt of recognition

A sudden realization that love and kindness are paramount.

That love and kindness are all that matter now

Understanding that love and kindness are the most crucial aspects of life.


And way back in the back of your mind you heard something getting through

Hearing something meaningful in the depths of one's consciousness.

Like some beautiful passage without words welcoming you to the middle ages
