If we establish a strong connection, we might become friends.
I get along with everyone but recently I'm spent
I usually get along with everyone, but lately, I feel emotionally drained.
I'm most happy when I'm dreaming of success
I find joy when I dream about achieving success.
And all my good friends call me wilderness
My close friends affectionately refer to me as "wilderness."
Well every book I read gives different reasons to be free
Various books suggest different reasons for embracing freedom.
And I'm being asked to say goodbye to the man I'll never be
I'm asked to bid farewell to the idealized version of myself.
I'm actually fine with how things are turning out, I guess
Despite uncertainties, I am content with how things are unfolding.
And all my good friends call me wilderness
People who know me well affectionately call me "wilderness."
I plan to be the guy who when he drinks, he disappoints
I intend to be the person who disappoints when drinking.
They'll say 'you'll kill yourself before you know it'
Others may express concern about my well-being.
Well isn't that the point? To make it all the more easier to digest?
The idea might be to make life's challenges easier to accept.
And all my good friends call me wilderness
Despite potential issues, my close friends still call me "wilderness."
And I'm waiting for the day I can explain myself to you
I eagerly await the day when I can honestly explain myself to you.
But just because it's honest, well that doesn't make it true
Honesty doesn't necessarily guarantee truthfulness.
And that's the answer to the questions we have left
The answer to remaining questions lies in the honesty of our interactions.

Well I've found all my answers in a plan to be a star
I've discovered my answers in aspiring to be a star.
To shine along in the sunrise towards which I lend no part
I aim to shine in my own way, even if I don't actively contribute to certain aspects of life.
I'm not invited, but I hope they're having guests
Though not officially invited, I hope they appreciate my presence.
