Never date a writer, never be a muse

Writers use personal experiences as material for their work.
They'll control the narrative, you'll feel misunderstood
The writer will control the story, causing the partner to feel misunderstood.
Never date a writer, especially if they're good

But you'll end up an index card on the corkboard of their dream

The writer takes someone's essence to craft their art.
They stole your breath and they made their art
The writer's art extracts emotions and creates something from it.
And they wrote their truth and they broke your heart
They write their truth, which might cause pain to the subject.
So never date a writer, and I'm a writer too
