I'm just doing what I gotta do to be a better man

I been feeling good since yesterday, don't know when I'ma land
The artist feels positive but uncertain about the future.
I been trying my best, hope my mom see the change in me
The artist hopes his mother notices positive changes in him.
Tryna stop blaming the world when I should be blaming me
Acknowledging personal responsibility instead of blaming others.
I know I been through shit, but I think you been through more
Comparing struggles with someone else's, expressing empathy.
Feel like I been working hard, but what the fuck I'm working for?
Questioning the purpose and meaning of hard work.
Thought 'bout suicide so many times like it's my favorite dream
Reflecting on thoughts of suicide as a recurring theme.
I just wanna feel okay 'cause feeling great ain't what it seem
Desiring emotional stability rather than extreme highs.
Watch my homies grow apart, man, I've seen this all before
Observing friendships deteriorate, experiencing déjà vu.
Fell in love with the rain, but, man, I swear I hate the snow
Contrasting love for rain with a dislike for snow.
Maybe if I share my secrets you would still decide to stay
Considering vulnerability as a means to maintain relationships.
But the last time I told secrets all those people ran away
Past experiences of sharing secrets resulting in rejection.
They want me to open up, but they'll be scared of what's inside
The struggle of opening up due to fear of judgment.
But I won't get to feel that love if I'm always in disguise
Recognizing the need for authenticity to receive genuine love.
I'll make you laugh and smile for days, but who could do the same for me
Providing happiness to others while seeking reciprocation.
I've tried a thousand times again, I know there ain't no changing me
Expressing a sense of permanence in personal struggles.
My character wears down every moment that I age
Impact of time on one's character and identity.
Maybe if I tell my truth for real I'll finally be a sayge, uh
Hoping that sharing true experiences will lead to wisdom.
