Standing Water
Embracing Change: Reflections of Urban Life's PullLyrics
Down from the mountain
Descending from a high place or state
Running wild through the trees
Moving freely and wildly among the trees
A crystal glimmer,
A sparkling, clear reflection
Rolling along so effortlessly.
Flowing effortlessly and smoothly
Trickled down from the country
Originally emerged from the rural area
But the city sucked it in and spit it out
The urban environment absorbed and expelled it
Now the gravity pulls you
Gravity is now drawing one towards the roadside
To the curb side now and it's getting light
It's becoming dawn or getting lighter
And it's too soon, too fast
Events are happening too quickly, prematurely
And now they're never gonna last
Things won't endure or survive for long
Standing water,
Stagnant water, lack of movement or progress
Standing to close to the sun
Being dangerously near to something powerful or overwhelming
With your rainbow run-off,
Metaphorically, the remains or residue of something vibrant or colorful
You're like a sitting duck waiting for the summer rain to come.
In a vulnerable position, awaiting trouble or difficulty
I was at low-life in the hot lands,
Being in a low state of existence in a hot or difficult environment
I was barely living up to the standard undemands,
Struggling to meet the basic requirements or expectations
I had run out of reasons to let myself believe in anything,
Having lost faith or reasons to believe in anything
I wanted to phone home so many times but I'm never giving in,
Desiring to seek comfort or return to a familiar place but resisting
You know dreams never die.
Aspirations or hopes persist despite challenges or difficulties
