Why do you want to live a nightmare?
Questioning the desire to endure a nightmarish existence.
The devil's a liar with some crazy schemes
Describing the devil as a deceitful entity with elaborate plans.
He conjures from thin air
Implying that the devil creates illusions from nothing.
No use in talking when the words fall down
Highlighting the futility of speaking when minds are closed.
Upon those minds that never open
Reference to closed-minded individuals.
Playing the fool beneath a cardboard crown
Portraying someone as foolish, pretending to be royal with false authority.
Upon a throne that’s stolen
Symbolizing a stolen or illegitimate position of power.
