What Do They Know
Navigating Heartbreak: Understanding Love's PainLyrics
They say that life goes on
Life continues despite challenges.
I'll find true love again.
Expressing hope for finding true love again.
It's not the end of the world,
Emphasizing that challenges are not the end of the world.
One day my heart will mend.
Belief that over time, the heart will heal.
Someone will come along and a new love will grow
Expectation that a new love will develop with time.
That's what they say but what do they know
Questioning the validity of others' opinions about love.
How could they know the pain I feel inside my heart,
Expressing inner pain that others may not understand.
They never lost your love,
Highlighting that others haven't experienced the loss of the same love.
So who do they think they are.
Questioning the authority of those who offer advice on love.
They never held you, or had to let you go.
Pointing out that others haven't had the same emotional experiences.
Well They're not trying to live without you,
Noting that others aren't facing the challenge of living without the loved one.
So what do they know
Raising doubt about the credibility of others' knowledge.
They say all is fair in love
Challenging the notion that all is fair in love.
But for me that's just not true.
Personal belief that love is not always fair.
I feel like someone took a knife
Using metaphor to express the deep emotional pain of separation.
And cut my life in two.
Conveying the feeling of life being dramatically changed.
It's better to have love and lost
Acknowledging the value of experiencing love, even if it ends in loss.
Than to have never loved, I'm told.
Contrasting the experience of having loved and lost with never having loved.
At least that's what they say, but what do they know
Questioning the understanding of those who haven't faced a similar loss.
Well they're not trying to live without you,
Reiterating that others are not dealing with the challenge of living without the loved one.
So what do they know
Continuation of skepticism toward others' knowledge about the situation.
