Leaving coincided with the start of a difficult or emotional situation.

Surprised and unprepared for the situation.
I started to gather my things, to take em to the car,
Packing belongings to leave the shared space.
When I asked, what the fuck did I even do?
Expressing confusion about the reason for the breakup.

Learning about partner's infidelity and unfaithfulness.
Well, I must admit I didn't have a clue,
Admitting to being unaware of the partner's actions.
