Valley of Dry Bones
Resurrection's Echo: The Phantom Pines' Haunting JourneyLyrics
I make my way through sunlit beams
I navigate through the bright rays of sunlight
Of shattered lives and broken dreams
Among lives in ruins and dreams shattered
And somehow think pain never left its mark
Despite appearances, pain has left an enduring mark
But later when the daytime fades
As daytime fades, demons emerge in a procession
The demons enter on parade
Demons parade, and devils express sorrow in the dark
And the devils roar their dirges in the dark
Come breath, from the four winds
Invocation for breath from all directions
Flow into the slain
Let the breath enter those who are defeated
So they can live again
Granting them a chance to live again
Come breath
At first I heard the rattled skulls
Initially, the sound of skulls rattling
That linked to spines and clavicles
Connected to spines and collarbones
And soon were joined by sinews flesh and skin
Joined by sinews, flesh, and skin
Then rising from their shallow graves
Emerging from shallow graves
With sullen eyes of trauma's slaves
Eyes reflecting the pain of trauma's captives
An army of the dead walked home again
An army of the dead returns home
Come breath, from the four winds
Invocation for breath from all directions
Flow into the slain
Let the breath enter those who are defeated
So they can live again
Granting them a chance to live again
Come breath
The valley floor was filled with blood
The valley floor soaked with blood
That quickly turned the dirt to mud
Blood transforming the soil into mud
And I laid down on the ground to watch the sky
Lying down to observe the sky
I closed my eyes to take a rest
Closing eyes for a rest
No beating heart, no breathing chest
No heartbeat, no breath
And I slept until my bones had been blown dry
Sleeping until bones are dry
Come breath, from the four winds
Invocation for breath from all directions
Flow into the slain
Let the breath enter those who are defeated
So they can live again
Granting them a chance to live again
Come breath, from the four winds
Invocation for breath from all directions
Flow into the slain
Let the breath enter those who are defeated
So they can live again
Granting them a chance to live again
Come breath
