How do we gauge what will happen in the future?

This is the moment to freak out
This is the moment to panic or feel extreme anxiety.

I can pretend I'm not shaking
I can choose to act as though I'm not trembling or anxious.
I can act like I'm just fine
I can behave as if everything is perfectly normal.
But what's the point of pretending?
But why bother with pretense?
To keep this mask intact?
To maintain this facade?
I'll never be what I'm faking if I'm panicking inside
