Struggling to find lodging in the town
To find a lodging in the town
Searching for a place to stay
But mark right well what came to pass
Encountering rejection at every door
From every door repelled, alas
As predicted, they find refuge in an ox's stall
As was foretold, their refuge all
Highlighting the humble nature of their refuge
Was but a humble ox's stall
Describing the shepherds near Bethlehem
Near Bethlehem did shepherds keep
God's angel appears to the shepherds
Their flocks of lambs and feeding sheep
Shepherds are caring for their flocks
To whom God's angel did appear
God's angel instills fear in the shepherds
Which put the shepherds in great fear
Angelic instructions to go to Bethlehem
Arise and go, the angels said
Promise of finding the newborn Jesus
To Bethlehem, be not afraid
Shepherds express gratitude and joy
For there you'll find, this happy morn
The shepherds embark on the search
A princely babe, sweet Jesus, born
Anticipating the birth of Jesus
With thankful heart and joyful mind
Shepherds find the infant Jesus
The shepherds went the babe to find
Acting in accordance with the angel's words
And as God's angel had foretold
Witnessing the fulfillment of the prophecy
They did our Saviour Christ behold
Seeing the Savior, Jesus Christ
Within a manger he was laid
Jesus is placed in a humble manger
And by his side a virgin maid
A virgin maiden is by his side
Attending on the Lord of Life
Attendants on the Lord of Life
Who came on earth to end all strife
Christ's purpose is to end all strife
There were three wise men from afar

And on they wandered night and day
Wandering until they reach Jesus

Arriving at the place where Jesus is
And when they came unto that place
