The helpless wander in vain
The helpless wander aimlessly without purpose.
To forget all before them
Attempting to erase memories or experiences that preceded them.
This inner sanction a blinding vision
A powerful internal approval or endorsement that blinds perception.
Through neglect we falter
We weaken due to lack of attention or care.
All are subservient
All individuals are submissive or obedient.
To burn out the absolute shadow our nature
To eliminate the all-encompassing darkness inherent in our nature.
Crawl into the darkest of holes
To retreat into the deepest, most obscure places.
With reason forbidden we fade
Fading away when rationality is forbidden.
And our shattered remains will lay to waste
Our broken remnants will be left to decay.
This is our weakness, our failing
Identifying our vulnerability and shortcomings.
Suffer at the hands of those we feed
Suffering due to the actions of those we sustain.
With wounds to show for nothing
Bearing wounds as evidence of our efforts yielding nothing.
Breathe the ashes of our burning past
Inhaling the remnants of our past mistakes.
To swallow whole, the denial
To fully accept and consume the act of denial.
These self-conceived walls close in upon us
Self-imposed barriers enclosing and pressuring us.
And we shall never see the light of day
Permanently blinded, never to see the light of day.
