I traveled to Nashville.
Not knowing what was in store
Uncertain about what awaited me.
All I knew is I had a promise

At first I didn't know
Initial uncertainty about staying.
If I'd even want to stay
Frequent relocation hesitations.
Packing up my suitcase almost every other day
Continual moving, driven by uncertainty.
The only thing that kept me
Reason for staying: God's words.
Was the words that He spoke
God's promise: freedom, life, and hope.
Promise of freedom, life, and hope
Anchored by the promises in difficult times.
I woke up everyday
Each day's start with uncertainty.
Not knowing if I'd live
Life's fragility.
To see another sunrise
Uncertain survival to the next day.
Or if I'd give in
Contemplating surrender.
The battle for my life some would say was so intense
Intense life battle.
But it wasn't stronger than Jesus
Jesus stronger than life's intensity.
Who met me in the midst
Encounter with Jesus in the midst of struggle.
Although I had to lose
Acceptance of losses.
Everything I had
Loss of everything.
Including how I thought
Transformation of thought.
I wouldn't take it back
No regret for the transformation.
Cause now I'm walking free
Freedom in the present.
There's new life inside of me
New life within.
The enemies under my feet
Overcoming adversaries.
And I can confidently sing
Confident declaration through singing.
So let me sing the song of how these Mercies Multiplied
Expressing the multiplied mercies.
How Jesus faithfully walked by my side
Jesus walking faithfully.
He kept every promise
Fulfillment of promises made by Jesus.
He made to me
Living proof of Jesus' faithfulness.
Now I'm living proof
Freedom available to anyone.
Anyone can be set free
Validation of being set free.
My journey's just beginning
Embarking on a new journey.
I'm learning how to live
Learning to live differently.
A life aside from darkness
Leaving darkness behind.
I'll never let it back in
Firm resolve against darkness.
To anyone who's tired of pretending you're okay
Addressing those pretending to be okay.

He never made a promise, He could not keep
Emphasis on Jesus' trustworthy promises.
Now I'm living proof
Living proof of freedom.

Assertion that anyone can experience freedom.
