Lyrics

I'm a man without a mission

I lack a clear purpose or goal in life

And no direction

I have no guidance or path to follow

I go wherever the wind blows

I move aimlessly, influenced by external forces

Well they wrecked my brain

My mind has been damaged, possibly by traumatic experiences

With guns that sound like thunder

I've faced intense and destructive situations

And now it's no wonder I've been livin' life this way

As a result, my current lifestyle is not surprising

With my cardboard sign

I hold a sign made of cardboard, likely asking for help

I stand out on your street corner

I stand on a street corner, seeking assistance

You pass me by and you don't even know my name

People ignore me without knowing my identity

I spent half my life

I dedicated a significant portion of my life to a cause

Fighting for this country's freedoms

I fought for the freedoms of my country

But since I lost my wife

Since losing my wife, I'm lost and struggling

I just can't seem to find my way

My sense of direction is elusive

Well I'm a man without a mission

Reiteration of lacking a clear purpose or goal

With no direction

Continuing the theme of being directionless

I go wherever the wind blows

I continue to move without a set path

If you could spare some change

I request financial help or empathy

Or share some compassion, maybe

Asking for understanding and connection

Just sit and listen to some things that I have seen

Sharing the experiences I've been through

I spent all my time tryin' to find a new direction

I've spent time seeking a new direction in life

But I lost my mind

I've suffered mental distress, possibly due to trauma

One bullet at a time

My mental state deteriorated gradually

I used to stand up tall

I used to be confident and assertive

And greet the world with my convictions

I faced the world with strong beliefs

I used to lead those men

I used to lead others, but now I'm homeless

But now I'm sleepin' on the streets

I now sleep on the streets

With my cardboard sign

Reiteration of holding a cardboard sign for help

I stand out on your street corner

Continuing to seek assistance on the street

And you pass me by

People pass by without acknowledging me

But you don't even know my name

Reiterating the anonymity I face

I spent half my life

I dedicated a significant part of my life to a cause

Fighting for this country's freedoms

Continuing the theme of fighting for freedom

But the only break I seem to find is another man's dime

Struggling to find breaks or opportunities

(I'm a man without a mission)

Reiteration of being without a clear purpose

And a cardboard sign

Emphasizing the cardboard sign as a symbol of distress

(Just a man without a mission)

Reiterating the lack of a clear purpose

I spend all my time tryin' to find a new direction

Continuing the struggle to find a new direction

But I lost my mind one bullet at a time

My mental state deteriorated through hardships

Now I'm a man without a mission

Emphasizing the lack of purpose or goal

And no direction

Reiteration of lacking guidance or path

I go wherever the wind blows...

Continuing to move without a set path
