The first noel the angels did say
The angels proclaimed the first Christmas message
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;
Addressed to humble shepherds in their fields
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
Shepherds were tending their sheep in the fields
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

-Born is the king of Israel.
-They looked up and saw a star
The shepherds saw a star in the east bringing great light, both day and night
Shining in the east, beyond them far,
-And to the earth it gave great light,
-And so it continued, both day and night.
-And by the light of that same star
Three wise men followed the star from a distant country, seeking a king
Three wise men came from country far,
-To seek for a king was their intent,
-And to follow the star wherever it went.
-This star drew nigh to the northwest;
The star rested over Bethlehem, specifically where Jesus lay
O'er Bethlehem it took it's rest.
-And there it did both stop and stay,
-Right over the place where Jesus lay.
-Then they did know assuredly
The wise men confirmed the location and found the baby in humble circumstances
Within that house, the king did lie
-One entered in then for to see
-And found the babe in poverty.
-Then entered in those wise men three,
The wise men entered reverently, offering gold, myrrh, and frankincense
Full reverently, upon bended knee,
-And offered there, in his presence,
-Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
-If we in our time do well
If we live righteously, we are promised freedom from death and hell, with a prepared resting place by God
We shall be free from death and hell
-For God hath prepared for us all
-A resting place in general.
